Arthur L. Elam (Teacher)

"CELINA . . . Arthur L. Elam, 59, of Rt. 4, a teacher in Celina High School, died 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Gibbons Hospital following a heart attack.

Born Sept. 17, 1912, in Farmers, Ky., he was the son of Ernest and Rosa Cassidy Elam. He was married April 11, 1941, to Lucille Johnson and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Rev. Dean Elam of Piqua and Rev. Neil Elam of here; three daughters, Mrs. Larry [Judy] Rieser of Konkate, Ill., Mrs. Melvin [Joyce] Kindall of Ada and Jill Elam at home; a brother, Jack of Syracuse, Ind.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bell of New Castle, Ind., and Mrs. Roxie Kreinder of Kingstown, Ind.

He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. He was formerly superintendent of Mendon-Union schools.

Survices will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in W.H. Dick and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in North Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home."
