Anita Denney Ray

July 31, 1941 - November 20, 2011

Anita L. Ray, age 70, of Elwood, passed away on November 20, 2011, at I. U. Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN following an extended illness.  
Anita was born on July 31, 1941, to Nicholas and Doris (Weyandt) Denney in Celina, OH.  Anita married Walter H. Ray, Sr. on April 25, 1959, and he passed away on Sept. 24, 1998.

Anita graduated from Anderson University and received her master’s in Social Services from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.  She has worked as a Social Worker for many years and recently for Sycamore Village Nursing Home.  She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Elwood.
 

Anita is survived by her:
2 Sons - Walter "Sonny" Ray Jr. of Belleville, IL, and Nic Ray of Elwood
Daughter - Sandi Stercks of Elwood
10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren
Sister - Sharon Parks of Elwood
  
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
  
There will be no services, cremation was chosen with burial at a later date.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to Dunnichay Funeral Home of Elwood.
  
Memorials are suggested to the First Pentecostal Church of Elwood.
